Membership & Eligibility
1.0Membership is open to Adult Baseball teams whose players are 21+ (exception: 18+ with majority captain vote if a parent/guardian is on the team). All new members serve a 1-year probation. Teams must confirm entry by April 1 each year.
1.1SPN Rules allow pregnant players to continue. If disclosed, both player and coach must sign a Pregnancy Waiver removing league liability.
3.0Maximum 20 players on a roster, all aged 21+ as of December 31 of the calendar year (18+ exception applies).
4.0No team may dress more than 20 players. Using an ineligible player = game forfeiture + manager suspended for next 3 league or playoff games.
5.0Playing rosters must be submitted to the Tier Convener by the start of the season. Players may be added but not removed. Maximum 20.
5.1Rosters freeze after August 27, 2025. Frozen roster = playoff roster. Max 20 players.
Game Eligibility & Fielding
6.0Minimum 9 players required to play. No automatic out if fielding 4F+5M or 4M+5F.
6.1League-sanctioned games permitted with a minimum of 3 females (regular season only).
6.2Team with only 3 females receives an automatic out in the 4th female batting spot. Females cannot be rotated within the batting lineup.
6.3Fielding team with 3 females plays max 6 males in the field — cannot field 7 males + 3 females.
6.4If a team drops below 8 players mid-game due to injury/ejection, the game is a forfeit at that point.
Reporting, Rescheduling & Forfeits
7.0Game results (scores, ejections, cancellations) must be reported to the Tier Convener within 48 hours by the winning team.
7.1All ejections must be reported by both coaches to the Tier Convener and Disciplinary Committee within 48 hours.
8.0Games cancelled due to weather are recorded as a 7–7 tie. No rain-out weeks or makeup games. Diamond rental/umpire savings are held as a rebate for returning teams.
8.1Forfeiture with less than 24 hours notice = $35 league fine (covers umpire fees). 24+ hours notice = no fine.
23.0A team that forfeits 5 or more regular-season games is ineligible for playoffs.
Standings & Tiebreakers (Rule 10.0)
PTSWin = 2 pts · Tie = 1 pt · Loss = 0 pts
a)Head-to-head record among all tied teams.
b)Winner of last regular-season matchup between the tied teams. If that game was a tie, walk back to the next most recent result between them.
c)Coin toss.
Game Rules (Rule 11 — HCCSL Specific)
a)Pitchers may pitch from 6 feet to unlimited distance.
b)Pitcher's mound zone: 2 feet left/right, max 5 feet behind the pitcher's box.
c)5-run max per inning except the final inning, which is unlimited.
d)No leading off — runners cannot leave the base until bat contacts ball.
e)No direct throws from outfield to 1st base. Relay throws (outfield → infield → 1st) are allowed.
f)Mercy rule: 12 runs after 5 complete innings.
g)Tagging a runner from home to 1st base is permitted.
h)Tagging is not permitted between the commitment line and home plate — runner is ruled safe.
i)150-foot rule: Outfielders must stay behind the 150-ft pylon line until the ball is struck. Violation = batter awarded 1 base.
j)2-base walk: If a male batter is walked and a female follows in the order, the male advances to 2nd. (Exception: declared 1st-base-only male goes to 1st only.)
k)A male batter cannot be intentionally walked to force an Auto-Out (female) to end the inning — he must hit or strike/foul out.
l)Male or female declared 1st-only hitting a home run over the fence is awarded 1st base only; all other runners score.
m)Official ball is the "Hot Dot" — no other grade permitted in regular season or playoffs.
n)A 5-person infield is prohibited.
o)Rotating a fielder to another position must be done for all pitches to that batter.
Game Format
12.07 innings. No new inning after 1h 30m from first pitch. 15-min grace period if both teams and umpire agree (counts toward 1h 45m total). Game reverts to last complete inning if time expires (regular season).
12.1Official game = 3½ innings (home team leading) or 4 complete innings.
Playoffs (Rules 13.0–13.4)

13.2All playoff games are single game, 7 innings, subject to 12-run mercy rule after 5 innings.
13.3Playoff tie after 7 innings → international tiebreaker extra innings. Weather-interrupted games suspended/rescheduled at Tier Convener's discretion.

16.2Substitute players must be declared at game start. Late arrivals can only be added if the order has not been completed once.
16.4Mid-game substitutions must be gender-for-gender (male for male, female for female) unless the batting order allows otherwise.
16.5Pinch runners: max 3 per game. Male for male, female for female.
16.6Declared injured players must be declared before game start. Allowed unlimited runners but only at 1st base — cannot advance further (except on overthrow or male walk with female behind them).
Ejections & Suspensions (Rules 20–21)
Class IVerbal: 1st ejection = that game + 1 auto suspension. 2nd = min 3-game suspension. 3rd = indefinite + disciplinary hearing + $50 team fine + team captain suspended.
